Huronia Veterinary Emergency Clinic

History

The clinic was established as a result of the cooperative efforts of many of the veterinarians in the Barrie and surrounding areas. These veterinarians combined resources, money and knowledge to start the practice in June of 2001 with the intent of supplying quality after-hours service to their clients.  Subsequently, other area veterinarians have purchased shares in the clinic.  Original and new shareholders are referred to as “partner” clinics.  The Huronia Veterinary Emergency Clinic also provides service to clients of veterinarians in the area who are not “partners".

Board of Directors Executive

5 Partner DVMs sit on the executive for a 6 year term and are, ultimately, responsible for making decisions that guide HVEC operations. The clinic is independently staffed and managed. In other words, the shareholders do not generally work at the clinic.
